FAQ
The Ins And Outs of How We Do Business
-
How does the BIOSWEEP process work?We utilize the BIOSWEEP 900 Series for odor removal, air and surface decontamination. The BIOSWEEP deploys a proven technology called photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) to produce simultaneous, interrelated forms of oxidation to eradicate airborne organic contaminants. These vapor compounds are unsurpassed in field applications for their penetrating oxidative power to remove virtually any embedded or persistent odor.
-
Does BIOSWEEP use any chemicals? No, the BIOSWEEP Process does not use any chemicals. Only uses the existing humidity in the treatment area.
-
Will the BIOSWEEP Process bleach upholstery or harm fabrics? No, the BIOSWEEP Process is compatible with most materials. It will not bleach or harm carpet, upholstery or fabrics when properly operated. Please refer to the Cole-Parmer Chemical Compatibility Chart for specific materials.
-
How large an area will the BIOSWEEP Process treat?A treatment area can be as small as a car or as large as a 10,000 sq. ft. The time it takes to treat an area depends on how many units are used. The quantity of BIOSWEEP’s needed is dependent upon several factors such as temperature, humidity, contaminant source and severity, floor plan, and cubic space.
-
Can the BIOSWEEP Process be operated with people or pets in the room? The BIOSWEEP Process can only be safely operated in vacant or unoccupied spaces. The BIOSWEEP Process should never be operated when humans or pets are present. Operators must wear NIOSH approved half or full-face piece respirators with NIOSH approved P100/Organic Vapor/Acid Gas cartridges during the BIOSWEEP Process.
-
What are the primary uses for BIOSWEEP?The BIOSWEEP Process is primarily used for odor removal and/or airborne contaminant destruction. Virtually any odor or airborne contaminant can be completely eradicated with the BIOSWEEP Process.
-
How long does it take the BIOSWEEP Process to treat an area? The BIOSWEEP Process can treat most indoor environments within 3-12 hrs. dependent upon several factors including indoor environment conditions, odor or contaminant, floor plan and cubic air space. Most vehicles can be easily treated in 1 hour. The BIOSWEEP Process can reduce deodorization time as much as ninety-percent (90%).
-
Is the equipment you use an ozone generator? No, BIOSWEEP equipment is not considered ozone generators. The treatment unit does not use coronal discharge ozone generation, which is unreliable and produces harmful and corrosive nitrogen oxides. The unit produces purified oxygen and hydrogen peroxide within the treatment chamber. These oxyradicals are exported to attack contaminants on exposed surfaces. The equipment is at least 10x more powerful than most commercial ozone generators.
-
How much time is saved with the BIOSWEEP Process? The BIOSWEEP Process can reduce deodorization time as much as ninety percent (90%) as compared to simple ozone generators.
-
Can it take more than one treatment? One Treatment will usually remove all odors caused by organic materials. In the unlikely event that odors do linger we will perform a second treatment at no extra charge. Our 100% guarantee assures our customers the BIOSWEEP Process will be successful.
-
Does the BIOSWEEP Process come with a warranty?Yes, The BIOSWEEP Process comes with a 14-day guarantee. Since the odor that caused the problem is organic we guarantee the original odor will be removed but other odors could be introduced after our treatment. We cannot guarantee odor removal if the customer continues to participate in activities that cause the odor.
-
Can the BIOSWEEP Process remove Formaldehyde in the air?Yes, it will remove Formaldehyde for the air. Since Formaldehyde is a volatile organic compound the BIOSWEEP Process is very effective at eradicating Formaldehyde.
-
Can you remove curry cooking odors from a home?Yes, the BIOSWEEP treatment is the only process that removes cooking odors from a home or restaurant. The curry oil is difficult to remove but with pre-treatment and experienced technicians we have excellent results.
-
Does the BIOSWEEP Process ever fail?Usually when an odor returns there are reasons why. Carpet padding, air filters, and other porous materials are the primary factor for recurring odors. Our technicians are highly trained to identify these possible odor traps so permanent odor removal can be achieved. If we are unable to remove the odor we offer a 100% guarantee.
-
Why can't we breathe the vapor from the BIOSWEEP Process? The BIOSWEEP Process produces both purified trivalent oxygen and hydrogen peroxide. The properties that make ozone and hydrogen peroxide powerful cleaners and disinfectants also make them dangerous to living tissues. The same chemical properties that allow high concentrations of these oxyradicals to react with organic material outside the body give them the ability to react with similar organic material that makes up the body and potentially cause temporary harmful health consequences. When these oxyradicals come in contact with living tissues, like our lungs, they attack and damage cells lining the airways, causing swelling and inflammation, and resulting in difficult breathing.
-
We had an animal die in our home. Can you treat the smell?Yes, any organic smell can be treated with the BIOSWEEP Process. Dead animals or human waste smells can be treated. The original cause of the odor must be removed.
-
Can I rent or lease the equipment for home or individual use?No, the unit is sold only to approved Licensees who are trained and certified in the use of this very specialized equipment.
-
Does the BIOSWEEP Process leave an odor?Yes and No. The treatment process produces a pleasant “clean scent” odor that gradually fades away within 24 hours.
-
Is the BIOSWEEP Process considered a "green" treatment and environmentally friendly?"Yes. We do not use any harsh chemicals and the BIOSWEEP Process leaves no chemical by-products. Unlike dangerous ozone generators that leave nitrogen oxide as a by-product of the treatment. Environmentally safe odor removal is now available.
-
How soon after a BIOSWEEP treatment can I re-enter?Most treatment areas can be safely re-entered within 45 minutes to 1 hour.
-
How do I know if it's safe to re-enter?At BIOSWEEP Oklahoma, we have a very sophisticated vapor monitoring equipment. This equipment registers, in fractions of parts per million, the treatment vapor to insure the area is safe for humans and pets. Most treatment areas can be safely re-entered within 45 minutes to an hour after treatment.
-
Can the BIOSWEEP Process treat odors in automobiles?Yes, the BIOSWEEP Process is highly effective and can be easily deployed inside any vehicle. We can remove any odors like cigarette smoke, mildew smell, pet odor, or even fish odor. And remember our 100% guarantee. If it still smells after we have treated the vehicle, you don’t pay a dime!
-
Can BIOSWEEP get rid of animal odors?Yes, The BIOSWEEP Process will eradicate most animal odors including cat urine and skunk odor. Pre-treatment of the affected areas to remove the source of the odors may be required.
-
Can the BIOSWEEP Process be used to sanitize a home or office after a biological incident?Yes, The BIOSWEEP Process is extremely effective at eradication of bacteria and virus. The unit has currently gone under extensive testing on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other resistant stains such as C-DIFF and has proved to completely eradicate and sanitize any pathogens. If you have any questions please feel free to ask us for the lab results.
-
